15 Star Wars facts you probably didn't know
With the new Star Wars movie coming up soon (1 week!), we thought it would be fun to give you a bunch of Star Wars facts! Sit back and read this while waiting impatiently for the new movie to come!
Luke Skywalker almost was named Luke Starkiller
What a badass name, but we prefer the actual one.
“I have a bad feeling about this” is spoken in every movie
Or variations of this sentence.
The original title of “Return of the Jedi” was “Revenge of the Jedi”
The title was change since a Jedi is not the type of seeking revenge.
All the clones in episode 2 and episode 3 were computer animated
What a chance this movie was release in the early 2000 when that technology was available. Other else, it would have cost a lot of money in actors and costumes!
You can frequently hear an elephant during the first movies
A mix of an elephant and a car driving on wet asphalt were used for the sound of the jets engines.
Jabba the Hutt was originally meant to be a furry creature
“Come here Princess, let me cuddle and tickle you”
Yoda almost got played by a monkey
The dialog would not have been really eccentric.
Yoda has no determined species
Yoda’s species was never named, but at least we know that he’s not a monkey.
Yoda has different number of toes depending in which movie he appears
In The Phantom Menace, he has three toes, but in the other movies, he has four. Maybe a particularity of his unnamed species, a toe appears every decade.
Qui-Gon Jinn’s communicator is nothing more than a Gillette Razor
No wonder why that guy has sharp communication skills.
The Ewok species name was never spoken into the movies
We can only see the Ewok name in the closing credits and in the movie script.
Return of the Jedi almost had a different ending
In the original script, Luke was supposed to removes Vader’s mask, to put it on his head and to proclaim “Now I am Vader”.
Han Solo almost got played by another person than Harrison Ford
Among the top candidates were Burt Reynolds, Al Pacino, Jack Nicholson and Christopher Walken. We are happy that Harrison Ford was the chosen one.
Carrie Fisher became Princess Leia because she didn’t want to get naked
Both Carrie Fisher and Sissy Spasic auditioned for Star Wars’ Princess Leia and for the Stephen King’s Carrie movie, but Carrie Fisher chose to go with Star Wars because she was against the nude scene in Carrie.
N sync almost had a cameo in Attack of the Clones
George Lucas hired them to make a cameo in the movie for his daughter, which they did, but that scene was removed on the final cut. Thanks to the person who took that decision!
